BIO

Amanda Amanda Assad Mounser is a New York-based jewelry designer, who debuted her premiere collection, Assad Mounser for the Autumn winter 2009 season. Prior to launching Assad Mounser, Amanda worked in the fashion industry for Moschino and Alejandro Ingelmo.

The Assad Mounser aesthetic is inspired by the decadence of the 1970's glam rock culture. Fusing organic materials such as agate, druze and quartz with heavier metal chains and spikes the look is distinctly bohemian with an edge. For the AW 11 season, the focus is on it-girl in tow to the Rolling Stones Anita Pallenberg, and the British interpretation of fashion at the time. Other influences include the music and styling of Iggy Pop, David Bowie, Brian Eno and The Rolling Stones themselves.

Assad Mounser is sold at fine luxury retailers such as Liberty, Lane Crawford, and Net-a-porter.com. Assad Mounser has also been credited editorially in Vogue Japan, Italian Vogue, Vogue UK, Vogue Australia, Vogue China, Harper's Bazaar, Harper's Bazaar UK, Elle UK, The New York Times, i-D, Purple Magazine, Marie Claire, Numero, Paper, Rush, 125, Dossier Journal, Lucky, Nylon, and W Magazine.

Assad Mounser was nominated in 2009 as one of Italian Vogue's "New Talents" and has collaborated with Cushnie et Ochs for their SS11 runway show.
